anyone else get the feeling that this thing will end with everyone (the detective, lawyer, Nas, etc) knowing that he is innocent but the final scene is him getting locked up for life?
I just have a feeling this is where this is headed

What did that girl do to make Freddy want her dead? That's why he's protecting Naz he knows he didn't do it.

Have you ever heard of a conflict of interest?

Can he not take the grand theft case?

I hope so. Really disliked that angle they threw into the show. To top it off they use Michael Williams. So dumb.

I thought the same thing. If he's doing that for no apparent reason then he must know either who did it or that he didnt do it.

Nasir is a former client. I'm pretty sure, no.

He can't take a case against a former client in a substantially related matter. I'd say these two cases are very related.

Stone likes Nasir. He knows its his parents that kicked him off the case. I could see him telling the guys to frick off, or taking the case to intentionally botch it.
eta: Or possibly take it in order to stay close to the case?? I hate myself sometimes.

I don't think that I buy the connection between Freddy and the murder. It's a little too contrived. A person gets murdered, and the suspect just so happens to get sent to the same prison with the same unit as the person who really orchestrated it? I'm not buying it. It would be crappy if they went there.
Freddy wants something unrelated from Naz, and he definitely isn't doing this out of the goodness of his heart. It's possible that he eventually uses connections on the outside to look into it and finds something, but that's about as far as I would expect that particular line to go.

I mean, I don't know how it works, but if no contract was signed or anything, he was never officially a client, correct?

or at least I don't want it to go that way

To be fair, that was one of 3 options in completely different directions, so you shouldn't expect much higher quality.
