Not sure what happened to the other thread in the OT (or why it was in the OT to begin with) but wanted to start another one to discuss the event.
Hoping my nephew makes the cut today... he shot 73 yesterday.

No clue what happened. But here is a repost of today's pin sheet.
I picked the Caldwells, but should have done more research on Southeastern golfers competing. Dumb mistake on my part.

I'm not a great golfer and never played in any type of individual tournament but I have played golf for over 30 years and I've never seen a pin sheet like that.
What are the +/- numbers at the top of each green for?
What are the bold underlined numbers on the bottom left of each green for?

I don't understand them either.

That pin sheet sucks. Not sure how it will be terribly useful unless you know the shape of the greens

Numbers at the top are the plus or minus from the middle of the green.
Number at the bottom left is depth of the green.
Numbers in the circles are paces from the edge of the green to the pin.
These pin sheets are typical, really.

These are loads more helpful doe
Is that really the pin sheet that the players get at the players? If so, they still have a yardage book that they can refer to for green shape

I don't know why...but I laughed when I saw it was you that posted this.

Thanks for the explanation... I guess the total depth of the green is handy to have.. the +/- just takes the calculation out of it for the players that want to aim for the middle.

Went through the scores - some good golfers this year:
A couple high school guys making noise
A couple D1 commits making noise
A former European Tour Player still scoring
Some quality current D1 golfers
A coulee lifetime amatuers that have excelled
I may play next year depending on the course - with the scores posted this year, I may not finish last!!!

Unless I've got a short club in my hand, I always just hit middle + a club and try to swing smooth

These days with rangefinders allowed its more helpful for the left to right yardage. Green depth on a yardage book is pretty standard.

Looks like the over won on threeputt today.
I had 73 and 7000 calories.
I'm betting that the calorie intake for today might hit 5 digits now

Looks like they may have a tighter finish than we thought yesterday

My bet is Patrick Christovich winning.

No doubt about that. Christovich is possibly the greatest amateur golfer in LA history. Anxious to see how some of the younger golfers handle the nerves.

3rd Round Update..
Christovich is -3 through 6 and tied with James Anstiss @ -7 for the tourney. Looks like they are in a weather delay.

Still in delay... Got a good bit of rain... I think they are just waiting to send them back out
