Any tips? Or do I just need more time to get the back adjusted to riding? Been road riding for about 6 months, riding more and more lately as the weather has cleaned up. TIA.
It could be your core strength. I'd start doing core work. Planks, side planks, bridges. Just google core workouts for cycling or something.

I think I'll probably stick with clinchers since I'll never have race support, and I'm not winning triathlons any time soon so I'd be more than happy to take 5 minutes to switch a tube to finish a race. And if I'm spending 1k+, I just as soon get the best tool for the job instead of trying to save a few hundred bucks and dealing with tubulars.
I just want better wheels so bad. Rented a set for a race recently and my bike looks so much better with just 60 mm wheel .

The "cheaper" tubular wheels I'm referring to are usually second hands and can be had better than carbon clinchers.
Also if it were purely speed, I'd probably have opted for Turbo Cottons
Then probably stick with clinchers. In triathlons, you're not pack riding, cornering, drafting, so in my opinion the handling is sort of moot. I just happen to get carbon wheels when tubular was the only choice and I bought 404's that I could switch out between road and tri's.
However, I will admit, tubulars carry a certain swagger.

. I do have an AL frame. I have a beginner bike Trek 1.1. Saving for a better bike.
One thing you can do is buy a carbon seatpost. It will help a little.

Clement USH 35s. Ride a Raleigh Willard 2 gravel/rode bike.

Man, if that's your ride or even what you're racing, that's all you need. At the end of the day it'a about the engine on that bike.

I'm thinking of putting some Continental Gaterskins on
I use the Ultra Gatorskin wire beads and run 125psi. They last a long time and probably the most puncture resistant tire Ive ever owned. Leave the folding kevlar stuff for race day.

I would train at 100 and boost up to 110-115 on race day.

Oh I know. Unlike some people I talk bikes with, I know the most important thing is the engine. That's why I pay for trainerroad. I have a coworker who will drop thousands to save a pound, but only rides once on the weekend. Will read all day on how to spend his money, but nothing on actual training.
But, I sure do like my gadgets. I'm still on my stock aluminum wheels. Rented those in the pic. I will probably get a set of flo 60/90s. Maybe a power meter if I ever go for an Ironman. But other than that, I'm completely happy with my bike. Except for the few scratches on my cockpit from wrecking last weekend

Well if you're really into it, then by all means get some aero wheels. I think it would be worth it. Especially when you start hitting 70.3 or higher distances.
I'm guilty of doing pointless upgrades but now I've just reached the point of going out there and enjoy the races and soak it in rather than focus on trimming seconds. Takes the stress out of it.

Wow!!!
I realize that you can spend whatever you want in cycling, but I had no idea a set of wheels like those could be $2k? That's crazy.
Posted on 6/6/16 at 8:29 pm to Kingpenm3
Cycling is retarded for that. And you can spend much more than 2k. But there are options for less. I've been looking at used (which is a bit of a gamble with carbon).
But with wheels, bike, power meter, saddle, etc. I'm starting to see how bikes get up there in cost. I'll be over 5k in my bike before I'd say I have everything I want. And my bike isn't even high end.

Dude. That's mid grade pricing for wheels.
Just about every big bike name has a $10k plus bike offering and even those still cut a few corners.
Why do you think the generic Chinese carbon frame and wheel market has taken off?
People are starting to get sick of bikes going for $8-$10k that don't have all the bells and whistles

Update, amazon overnighted the 4 seasons to me today!

Sweet ride. I just got my first proper road bike today after riding a boat anchor (Trek 820 Mtn Bike) for the past couple years. It's a Specialized Allez Sport. I'm already hooked.

I'm slowly softening up the wife on the idea of a better road bike. My current bike I use as a road bike is a Fuji 1.5 cross cx bike. Shitty compact crank, tiagra components, terrible disc brakes, and a frame so flexible I can damn near fold the bike in half.
I had/have the Allez in mind if I want to stay with a more "resiliant" aluminum frame. Maybe stay in an actual reasonable price range as well. But I'm constantly on classified sites hoping to come across a good deal on a few other models. If I go Aluminum, it will be the specialized though.

My latest toy is a steel single speed bike for $450.
