The ghost busters of The Conjuring 2 are scary good.

Wan has a gift that most slam-bang horror directors today do not: a sense of the audience - of their rhythm and pulse, of how to manipulate a moment so that he's practically controlling your breathing.

Frightening rarely strikes twice in the same place, despite the efforts of so many horror sequels, but even if The Conjuring 2 doesn't deliver the delightful jolts of its predecessor, it maintains a consistent chill throughout.

Can't wait!
I don't think I can take my pregnant wife to see this one.

James Wan is the king of making "horror" movies for people that don't watch horror movies.

I don't understand how they've made a movie on the enfield poltergeist. Most of the "occurences" with the girls was proven to be a hoax by the two of them.
Having said that, I loved the first two movies, I will see this one.

I thought the first one was extremely well done. I'll wait for this one to hit streaming.

I'm hoping to go see this tonight at the theater in Gonzales

I've liked both Conjuring movies so far. I am just saying Annabelle was part of it for the record.
But I have issues with the story for this sequel. Most of the haunting and demonic possession from the enfield poltergeist was proven to be a hoax by the kids involved. I don't get why they made a movie about his. Having said that, I will see it anyway.

Not just that....but they say the Warrens spent literally no time investigating it. Just a money grab trying to portray something "based on a true story." Think I'll pass.

I can overlook some things, but when you spent a few hours on the case and become the focal point of the movie, that's where I draw the line.

Yeah, all this stuff is fake anyways, just like the first Conjuring and that stupid doll (the guy who was hired to write the book was told by the Warrens, all the people that come to them are crazy, just make it up and make it scary.) And just like Amytiville.
My problem is the Warrens were total shysters who bilked people and did little or nothing except promoting themselves and attaching themselves to these hoaxes.
And it's really getting tired of this...based on a true story. (So they get around this by saying, based on the true files) - cause I guess the hoopla and media-fest for the Enfield hoax was true.

Just saw it. Meh.
They telegraph a major plot point 15 mins into the movie.

I know Ray Garton (author of In a Dark Place the book A Haunting in Connecticut was made after) personally and he will tell you straight up that the Warrens are full of shite and that while interviewing the family that all that supposedly happened to, none of them could keep their stories straight and he went to Ed Warren telling him he can't write a book out of this and Ed told him to just make it up and make it scary. The book was originally classed as non fiction but Ray fought the Warrens and publishers to have it reclassified as fiction.
I don't understand how they can call this a "true story" as the Warrens didn't even investigate this incident. It really does give this false sense that demonic possession happens routinely even though every case has been thoroughly debunked.
