Go with a lowrance unit hds 7 or 9 if the wallet allows. The elite ti and hook are also great units. What's your email I can tell you more.

Excuse me for jumping in on this thread but I'm also in the market for a new GPS/Finder unit.

Just got a G3 1860 and looking for a unit in the $300-$500 range. I'd greatly appreciate your input as well.

The HDS looks great, but what model? Honestly, the base model (83/200 kHz) seems great.
