Valek Tuesday, and Lange against Florida?

Three possibilities:
1. Lange
2. Lange
3. Lange
If he pitches anyone else it will be folly.

It's Tennessee, why waste Lange when we play Florida the following day. That's if we win Tuesday.

Well, there you have it...Lange

Yeah I hear ya, but we probably won't beat Florida if they're pitching Shore and we are pitching Valek.

Well LSU has pretty much earned a regional over this weekend. Going 0-1 in the SEC Tournament isn't going to hurt them from hosting. This is why they need to pitch someone other than Lange.
If LSU wants to have it's best shot at advancing they will need Lange against UF. They're playing with house money at the moment. Regardless of who's on the mound against Tennessee LSUs shown they can beat them sweeping them earlier in the season.
Droping Game 1 isn't going to hurt LSUs chances at hosting. It's about wrapped up right now. If LSU wants a super regional they'll need to beat Florida and possibly Miss St this week.
I'd go Valek but I don't think Poche would be available off 3 days rest

Shore is beatable, the guy yesterday is the only real worry IMO...

Yeah he's beatable when you have someone on the mound to match him.

Give Lange his shot against Florida. We have another pitcher who can beat Tennessee. I feel like we can out hit Tennessee anyway.

Mainieri hasn't started his top arm in the opener of the SECt going back to at least 2007. He's done pretty good winning that little competition. I don't think he's going to abandon a decade of strategy for such limited upside. Expect to see Valek or Johnny Wholestaff.

5 of the last 8 if anyone needs a reminder.

No matter who it is, I'm sure it will be the wrong choice

For me, a lot depends on the ramifications:
- What do we gain if we win out? Would we host a super?
- The SEC may get as many as four nat'l seeds. I think A&M, State, and SC are already locks. If UF goes 0-2, which would include another loss to us (that would be 3 of 4 vs UF) and IF we win the SECT, we would have a strong case that we merit a nat'l seed more so than UF.
- I would like to think we're already hosting a regional regardless of what we do in the SECT.
My biggest concern is getting to Omaha. Obviously, our best chance is to be a nat'l seed but that seems remote at this juncture.
