Again, my point simply is that the team will have to add 1-2 players better than whatever rookie they add this summer for them to be an above .500 team
You want your rookie to have a niche role his first year, not to be asked to do too much. Kawhi, for instance, was given a very limited number of things to do and work on his first year. The Spurs won AND he developed. That is the ideal.
I think it would be bad for a rookie to come in, have Gordon, Ryno, and Tyreke exit and a guy like Bazemore come in, and all of a sudden the rookie is the number 3 option. I want his role to be smaller and more specialized year 1

And nobody will disagree with that. There isn't a player in this draft that will make this a winning team year 1 without other help, and that includes Simmons.

We're not the Spurs, though. They started out good, so this line of thinking is a total non-starter. Being one of the best-run organizations in pro sports is certainly ideal.

I totally agree there. Unfortunately, I have little faith in Derps to make any of that happen.

Who do you think they go after? As noted in my post I can see Dell pursuing Solomon Hill to be a relatively cheap filler at the 3 and then make a play for Fournier to fill the 2.
