Where to eat in Houston?

Looking for something in between the Galleria & Downtown areas. I haven't been here in a while so I don't know what the good restaurants are these days.
Any kind of food is fine, provided it's good and not too ridiculously expensive. Also, a good atmosphere would be nice...meeting some friends I haven't seen in a while (they're not from here either, otherwise I'd ask them to pick a spot).

I was there last night. Good spot.
If you want Mexican, go to Ninfas on Navigation if you are staying downtown or El Tiempo on Richmond if you are staying in the Galleria area.

Hugo's(Montrose) or Caracol(Galleria) for Mexican.
Bernadine's(Heights) or Reef(Midtown) for higher end seafood....Goode Company Seafood(West U) for casual.
Underbelly(Montrose) for what can best be described as.....Houston on a plate....Chris Shepherd loves this city and it shows in his food.
State of Grace(River Oaks)....New American/Gulf Coast??? I guess is what they bill themselves as.
Cooking Girl(Montrose) or Ginger and Fork(Heights) for Chinese.
Coltivare(Heights) for Italian.
Helen Greek Food(Rice Village) for you guessed it...Greek.
Just a few highlights...I'm sure others will provide more input on those I've missed.
