Our roster is paper thin and we keep kicking the can down the road in regards to salaries.
Until they prove to have a defense that isn't laughable I have no problem with people ranking the team at the bottom.
Get a defense that is 20th or better and they win 10+ games.

Mack is a top 5-7 DEF player in the NFL
Definitely would put him in the top 5
Watt, Kuechly, Miller, Donald and Mack
Most underrated defensive player in the NFL is Harrison Smith. I've never seen an elite player talked about as little as he is.
No problem with where Oakland is ranked. I think they'll win 9-11 games this season. That offense could be dangerous. They will have a top 3 offensive line IMO. Plenty of talent that will get better. I can easily see the hype for them and I've been saying the last couple years they are about to be good again. It's inevitable. I don't understand the Jaguars hype just yet. Potential is there, but I still think they need another year or two.

That division is tough though. I think Jax wins theirs, and they should be higher ranked than Oak; however, both teams will be good this year.
Saints ought to be ranked around 20. I don't care how bad their D is; with that O they are still better than 10-12 teams

The Jaguars at 17
Meh, I don't think it's that far-fetched. They have the potential of being a pretty good team. Next year, they are basically getting 3 potential defensive studs in Ramsey, Jack, and Fowler. Plus, their offense should be pretty legit with Bortles at QB, Yeldon/Ivory at RB, Robinson/Hurns at WR, and Thomas at TE.

Falcons have no pass rush
Agree, unless Vic Beasley goes off this season.

and no run game
Da fuq? Devonta Freeman was leading the league in rushing at week 9 and he wasn't even the starter week 1.

Their pass defense is mediocre.
I'd say good at CB but LB was bad last season, couldn't cover TEs.

All they have is a passing offense, but all Ryan can do is dink and dunk underneath.
Disagree. See comment on Devonta Freeman. You underestimate Ryan, especially with Julio but I'm just tired of arguing about Matt Ryan with Saints fans at this point.
Guess we will find out soon enough though.

You're joking right? Ryan is captain check down. Its Julio deep covered or not, or check down. Period.

Falcons were 25th in the league in YPC.
and 19th in total rushing yards

Yeah as a team the Falcons suck running it. As a player Freeman did very well.
Thought y'all reached on the first two picks in the draft also, trying to find players to recreate the Seahawks D.

maybe you should cheer for another team, and by cheer i mean, that guy that bitches and moans perpetually on their message board

Everyone here should masochistically dwell on how much of your life you have wasted on lifting this dumpster fire of a football francise to the top priority of your life. They will do nothing but shite on your hopes and dreams from this point forward

I personally get off to this aspect of following the Saints. It's a double sided dil- sword for me.

You're telling people not to waste time on a team, yet you're posting on a message board for that team.

my question, and for once it is not a flame or anything on my part, is if you feel this way about the Saints as a whole, why do you post here or even visit the ST forums.

We finished fricking 7-9. This is lol worthy.
In 9 years in NOLA 7-9 is the WORST record put up by Sean Payton. Hell, they went 7-9 without their HC for an entire season. Being ranked #30 indicates that you feel the Saints are only capable of winning somewhere between 2-4 games next season. Last year wasn't the first time under Payton that the Saints have had a God-awful defense. Yet, they've ALWAYS managed to keep themselves in at least the top 20 NFL teams. For them to finish with only 2-4 wins next season would go against 10 years of history that suggests otherwise.

Confused by your statement. They contradict each other.
I think our Oline and running game DOMINATED the first 5 weeks of the season and then took a shittastic nose dive the rest of the season. 2 different views, 2 different results.
Not sure how our draft is going to pan out but we needed a Safety as probably our top 2 needs and we got one in Rd1. We definitely needed an OLB/DE in our other top 2 needs and got that in Rd2. They could be awesome, could be average or completely suck. You dunno and neither do I.
I might as well come in here and shitting on Sheldon Rankins saying he's a weak/small/light DT who is going to get dominated by Centers and Guards in the NFL. Could happen, may not happen, neither of us know right now.

TIED for the worst record. Also did this in 2007, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 8-8 in 2008. And dont give me the BS about him being suspended. He still built the team and deserved to be suspended. That was completely on him. He came back, and put in two out of three season at a quality 7-9. The delusion is sickening.
Also, 7-9 in 3 out of the 4 seasons since we gave Brees that outrageous contract. The only season we did other than 7-9, we went like 1-3 in december and choked away homefield and the division and let Cam Newton and Russell Wilson skull truck us. Get off the drugs saints fans
