what do you mean by this? Is the map we're given in our inventory at the beginning not a full map?

saw your various maps on a wall type structure in one of your earlier pics so I'm sure that's what you're talking about. but thought that was just a big version of our little map. no idea how to make a big map like what was in your pic

Nope that's just a piece of the entire world. You build a big map like Dr. Funke's by making new empty maps and opening and exploring them outside of the current map you were given

Yeah as its explained above. The world is made up of 25 maps. You start with the center one and can not make any changes to it other than filling it in by walking around looking at it.

It would be nice if you could expand a map to show more but the only way to see an area not on your map is to have another map made of that area.

The map wall i made just shows the shape of the world and looks cool i think. It has taken forever to make, and i still havent quite finished.

Some good news though if you take one of my maps it will uncover the area for you even if you haven't been there. You would still have to physically go to an area on the map and create the map while there but the whole thing would be unlocked.
