I just bought a 2016 FS12T this year and Im a beginner aswell. From what I can tell, this one is extremely dry, fairly easy to stand up in, still working on that 
Like others said, seat is very comfortable for fishing 4-5hrs. Ive used it 5-6x this year and Im still learning something different everytime. I feel like I made a good purchase and now the wife is after me to buy her one. She has zero trouble loading and unloading FWIW. Hope this helps
