Very sad and nobody knows anything but anyone that knows about Loyola this is way too much for a school its size. One student is too much but two in one year for a school its size truly magnifies the problem the place has because of what they emphasize and let go on.
While yes im sure there will be responses Loyola no care, or not surprising. But this should be a wake up call to those that oversee Jesuit universities nationwide to step in. For a school its size this could hurt it tremendously. Recently they have had real problems maintaining their current small enrollment size as well as underperforming academic standards.
For people especially in New Orleans that had family attend back in the day when it was very different and much better. It is very sad and as a parent seeing this, how could you send your son or daughter there, no matter how liberal you are.

Herion is a problem for every college in a big city, public or private

this is actually the third student death so far in 2016. The most recent one was an overdose, I hate to rush to conclusions but I'd expect this to be one as well.

Man, you really emphasized the small school theme. Only mentioned it 4 times.

Dude, frick off. Sorry I can't link all the horror stories I've heard, the 4 people I personally know that have died from heroin in the last year, and the many many more people I know that have been in and out of treatment fighting that addiction.

5 people in 2011
35 in 2013
9 so far in October 2014 according to that article
Two years later what is the number?

In Orleans Parish there were more heroin related deaths in January 2016, than in all of 2015. Way up in Jefferson, too. They're blaming it, in part, on Fentanyl being added to the heroin, but the root cause is prescription opiate addiction.
