If Goff or Wentz drops, would you draft one of them as the Saints?

Another hypothetical but let's say one of the two QB's drops to 12. Do you pick one as the heir to Drew Brees? Or trade back with a team looking to scoop up one of them?

Every year the magical spot for a dropping qb happens to be where we pick

No. Trade back (easier said than done) or just pick someone else.

I can't see any scenario where either of them is there, regardless. Someone would have traded up to a previous spot and taken them. Only team behind us I could see being a trade partner is Jets at 20.

Would be slightly embarrassing considering what they spent on a QB last year.

If they drop to us we could easily trade back to a team in need of a QB. The Rams at #15 come to mind.

We have Drew fricking Brees!!!

Why would you even ponder using a first round pick for a position that just boasted 4800+ yards passing last year.

It really depends. If one of them fell to #10, you think the trade would be there to grab one of them from Chicago. If they fell to #12, the trade would probably be with Oakland at #14 before the Rams pick. And it depends on what the deal is and who is available.

As for picking a QB, I wouldn't be overly happy. I'd have to really think about it.

You take the QB that drops. Brees is a UFA next year. This gives the new QB one year to train under Brees. Hopefully he could get 3 years of training behind Brees, but Brees will need to restructure his contract. That has not happened.
This will be one of the few times you can get a top 1 or 2 QB at 12. Unless you plan to lose many games over the next 2 years, this will be your only opportunity to get a top QB. You will have to pay a lot (Ex: Osweiler gets $18 mil/year... for what? He's not that good.)

No, there is no QB in this draft that would be worth a first round draft pick for the Saints they have other needs they have to fill.

No. You can take a QB in the third or later. Pretty certain we can get a Cardale Jones, Brandon Doughty, Jacoby Brisset, or Kevin Hogan from the third or later. If the Saints are planning on signing Brees to a 3 or 4 year extension, they need to focus on winning NOW. The future will come when it comes but until then, the Saints must focus on doing whatever they can to get Brees atleast another ring. Plus, I'm in favor of not drafting a QB because Grayson seems like the successor to Brees's throne once he hangs it up. This draft should focus on the Defense (specifically DT, OLB/DE), OG, and WR. Give Brees some protection and atleast one more playmaker at WR and I guarantee he'll be playing into his 40's.

I'd trade up and or trade Brees to draft either of these two

btw .. saw a great new Brees-flavored Walk-On's promotion this morning on social media. Can't wait for his mayoral campaign. Will be a cake walk.
