OK, so I am the last to know this, but if even one person finds out because of this, then it was worth it.

You couldn't look at that and immediately know what it was?

No
Never seen one still. Usually they are passing me on a two lane hwy.

Those nacelles are built in a GE facility in Pepsi-Cola Florida.

I asked this question last year. I had no idea but saw them often on the interstates while driving.

I have never gotten to really take a look at one of those types of trailers. I'd like to see where the forces are transferred to understand what the hell is going on and why they are beneficial.

I work for GE building these. Those trailers are nothing special. The cool thing to see is the blades being shipped (specially built contouring dunnage) and the tower sections, which come on two specially made snovels.

We offload them everyday....

It's all about the center of gravity. And its easier to load.

I used to see them everyday passing through HOuston. Haven't seen one in a while, but I've got a different commute route that stays off the interstate.

Designed that way for height clearance, makes it easier to haul under overpasses and low lying overhead power lines

I was kayaking on the Missouri River and a train passed by that must have been carrying 45-65 blades. They were huge.

I'm waiting on GE to send me some tech data. Wish they'd quit posting and hurry the hell up.

Yeah, our main marshaling yard for the Midwest is in Garden City, KS, which is where most of the components are shipped, then trucked to the various sites.
The blades I have on this project are 56m long. The trucks that ship them are well over 200ft with everything. The back portion of the trailer is actually controlled remotely by a pilot car.

You should see one of those loaded down with a Cat 797 truck bed. Pretty amazing sight.
