My son decided to put a password on his lock screen on his Galaxy S2. Is there a way to access his phone? I have his gmail username and password.

Yeah, ask him what his password is.

I think after too many missed tries it can be unlocked with the gmail username and password.

I plan on doing that when he gets home from school, but I was hoping to access it and change the password to one he doesn't know. I want to see how long it takes him to ask me about it. I took his tablet and phone away a couple of days ago. I gave his phone back in order to have to get in touch with me when I'm not home. Now he has locked it which tells me he's up to no good. Lol.

Tried that about 25 times and it hasn't prompted me for that info.

He's a teenager i assume. There are apps out there like teensafe or something like that where you can get his texts and stuff.
Doesnt work with snapchat though. Not sure how often he uses that.

You might be able to wipe the phone and get in if you have his gmail account.

I would be very clear about certain lines. Whoever pays for stuff owns that stuff - whether it is you or him.
If you gave him the phone as an explicit gift, then it is his. Simple as that. I'd honor it, a gift should remain a gift.
But if you are paying for the phone service, continued service is at your pleasure and not his. Explain to him that failure to supply the password means phone service stops tomorrow. Even if the phone is his, that will probably convince him to hand over the password. And if not, cancel the service and don't be especially eager to reestablish it when he changes his mind.
And if he is able to pay for the service on his own, let him do it and don't bother him about it. If he can pay for everything, then it is truly his.
