So yeah, they'll be able to offer "need based" assistance to the Top 8-12 football athletes from Northside HS...
If they apply and qualify, they probably would. This is no different than any other private school. LCA is very close to Northside and is the least expensive tops qualified (whatever that means now) private school in the area so I would expect that would be a consideration to kids that want to play football. There are fairly strict conduct rules but I must admit they seem to have relaxed a little in the last couple of years, particularly regarding athletes, but at least one basketball player was dismissed from the school during the season for conduct reasons.
Facilities for a school like Northside are an issue because of the economic situation of the local community and the fact that football equipment in particular cannot be kept up to date without outside (non public) money generally raised by families of students.
We may disagree on LCA but I think we agree it would be a sad day if Northside has to shut down its football program.

I'm not against LCA in any way, shape, or form.
I'm 1 of those people who realize & know that recruiting goes on in HS, public & private. LCA is right in the thick of it & in a GREAT seat to do so right now with what we've discussed about NHS.
If NHS shuts their program down, it might be the wake up call the community needs to actually look towards themselves to fixing the problems. We know the LPSS isn't going to be bailing anyone out in the near future.
