Updated - OT Mechanics - Caliper Issue -

Changing the pads on a Suburban like I've done several times. Caliper won't fit over new pads. Pushers are all the way in. I use wearever ceramic pads. Vacuum boost. Brought pads back and got the cheaper non-ceramic pads and same problem.
Old pads will go back in and fit fine. Borsch rotor in great condition.
Any ideas or suggestions to get this finished tonight? Thanks
Update - bottom slide pin in the caliber bracket was stuck throwing the bottom off center just enough to prolong the job.

Take brake fluid resevior cap off and squeeze in caliper pistons fully (with proper tool). You will likely push out some brake fluid at the resevoir.

proper tool + large C clamp and a 1x4 to prevent the clamp from damaging the piston.
press it shut and they will fit.

Reservoir cap is of and I used a c-clamp with the old brake pad to push them back in. I then used c clamp and socket to seat them individually.

I typically just use the old brake pad flipped in the spot with a c clamp.

sounds like you properly pushed the pistons back into place.
Are you sure you have the exact right pads? If it won't fit over the rotor then you need to push the piston in more, bu if you can't even get the pads into the caliper it's possible you have the wrong part.

No reason for them not to fit then. Either wrong pads or your not setting them in properly. Bring old pads with you to store to ensure correctness.

The Pistons won't go back any further. Pads seat just fine. The caliper won't go over to bolt on. Not even sure if I can get the top one bolted to try and swing/bang the caliper over. Shouldn't be that tight.

Thanks. I'm confident they are set correctly. Holder is centered. Pads are flush to rotor.
Went to store twice. Had no reason to doubt the parts lookup guys but here I am.

so they fit in the caliper but you cant get the assembled caliper with pads to slide over the disk?

You checked to make sure the reservoir didn't over flow, right? Mine came close until I used a disposable turkey baster to lower the level until the new pads were in.

I'm not doing it that way. I have the bracket bolted on, pads in bracket and then trying to put rotor on over that.
Ive seen people remove bracket away from rotor, assemble with caliper and then mount. Guess I could try that.

Reservoir didn't overflow. It's a hair over max fill line.

Your wording makes me go hmmmm lol.
You are putting the pads in place on the removable calipers then placing that over and into rotor? Or trying to place them on rotor but there is not enough room for the rotor to fit between the pads?
