Me no
I went to college but my old man didn't.
My wife never finished but my Mom did.
They have so far way out performed us.

Not even close. My parents started a successful advertising company. I enlisted in the army.

I'm wealthier. I don't have a bad arse kid to pay for.

I used to be. Hated my job and decided to go back to school.
My dad was a pizza delivery guy and a shoe salesman working 7 days a week. My mom stayed at home.
My wife and I were both teachers at 22 years old making $72k/year combined. That was easy living for that age.

Definitely I am currently better off than my parents were at my age, but they are light years ahead now.

More, but my dad was serving in the Army, if you adjusted his pay for inflation I am not sure.

I'm 25 and earning a little over 50k a year.
More successful than mom was.
Not as successful as dad (yet)
I'm hoping to be half the business man that my old man is.

Yup. My mom just started making what I was making 3yrs ago. I've been out of school for ~ 10 yrs. Dad was an operator so as the OT knows, he was making good scratch. But me and Mrs. TBP probably clear double what they were in the early 80s. Time value of money not-withstanding.

I have a much higher income and net worth. My parents weren't doing poorly by any means, but I am just better off. I make more money now than my father ever did.
As for net worth, my father has a serious spending problem. I am richer at 42 than he is at 68 (retired last year).
Both parents went to college, my mother has a masters degree.
Now compared to my grandparents, no fricking way. They had way more wealth at my age, mainly b.c my grandmother inherited a bunch of it.

We actually watched Married with Children as a family. My dad laughed his arse off at it (it really was a funny show). But I can remember feeling awkward as a kid because of how they portrayed Al as a loser for working at a shoe store.
My dad pulled out of it though. I'll be lucky to make what he makes at 57.
