That's medical. Will be another 10 years before recreational after medical is passed in any state, IMO. The state will want to develop and analyze the industry with medical legalization for a period of time.

Isn't simple possession basically a speeding ticket in al-Abama?
What really happens is you can usually do drug court with tests and probation. I've have friends who had to do that just for seeds under their car seat.
Also seen people totally let go. And people get leaned on hard to rat out the dealers. Depends on the cop and the area.
It's no joke though.

Considering the budget hell we're in, you'd think marijuana legalization would at least be on the table. Colorado brought in over a billion, about the amount we're in the hole.

This.

Kentucky. I read an article one time saying that if Kentucky were to legalize they would be the richest state.

Georgia, N. Carolina then Florida. There are massive pot fields in Georgia.

Yikes. Thanks for the correction. I wonder which state I was thinking of.

Florida has a medicinal marijuana proposition on the November 2016 ballot.

and their gas tax is high as well.
It is indeed. But for some reason the Costco in Augusta has cheaper gas than even the cheapest SC places--$1.35 today!
On-topic, I think once the seal is broken all Southern States will legalize it pretty quickly--can't pass up the revenue.
States will grow green with envy when they see that greener grass in their neighbors' yards.
Also, aren't the feds supposed to take it out of schedule 1? That will probably help perception. And the rise of the dangerous synthetic crap should also provide an incentive.
Just saw this HuffPo article from yesterday. Why is Marijuana Banned?

Doesn't Tennessee grow the most pot in the US with California second and Kentucky third? I would say Florida though.

Not sure what you consider to be a southeastern state, but it will happen in this order.
Virginia
NC
Florida
Tennessee
Kentucky
Texas
WV
Army
Louisiana
Georgia
Alabama
Mississippi

Florida will be but its a no-brainer that Louisiana should but then again we lost out to Mississippi on the Casino boom years ago too.
I don't think it will be Florida. They don't even have a medical initiative yet, and a ballot initiative there requires a 60% super-majority. However, a medical initiative will be on the Florida ballot this year.

Alabama has legalized CBD oil if you enroll in a medical study. That only passed because a State Trooper's kid had seizures and he became the face of the bill.
The sherif's association here in Louisiana only recently supported a very limited medical marijuana bill here because the daughter of one of the higher ups had cancer and fought for MMJ for pain control. The bill is named after her. Funny how these things work.
