Twenty one hits (9 for extra bases) in just over 5 innings should help the "we can't hit" crowd feel a little better.
Scoreboard was being repaired during scrimmage therefore, no speed gun display.
Newman finished for both teams.
Coach juggled the batting order for gray team extensively during scrimmage.

Well the hitting is nice. I'd imagine the more AB our players get against the same pitchers the better their numbers will be. The pitchers are probably still developing some stamina before being ready for full time situations. All in all, it seems like the spring practices have been going very well. Won't calm my nerves anymore until I see some real game action, but it is encouraging to know the guys are working and getting prepared.

Not a good closer audition, I'd say.

Robertson had 5 productive plate appearances in as many chances tonight. Still running with it.

Looks like Lochridge did better

Lochridge's offense has been solid throughout spring.

Lochridge has to be in this lineup somewhere.
Also, anyone listen to Cannizaro's interviews on 1045 ESPN Thursday mornings? Gives some interesting info. Cole Freeman runs from home to 1st in the same time or a click faster than Stevenson.

Was it an all fastball day?

Quick question, excuse my ignorance on the subject:
Is the offensive production a product of batting against familiar pitchers that we have seen all fall and spring?

grey pitchers gave up 13 hits and only struck out 1 batter. That is not good at all

Anyone keeping track of all stats for each scrimmage in a spreadsheet? Interested to see the sum of all AB and IP.

Every year same story reading the rant
Pitchers do well = hitting will struggle this year
Hitters to well = pitching will struggle this year
Pitchers do well = hitting will struggle this year
Hitters to well = pitching will struggle this year

should I add in too many walks?
Our top guys are going to be real good. But the bottom of bullpen has been struggling as of late.
