He certainly played poorly. Yea a lot of it had to do with those around him, but he 100% did not have a good game
And yea, a lot of that falls on the coaches. Should have had more options and quick plays
Did they run HB screen against that pass rush?

He had two poor throws to start off, but he looked pretty good considering. I don't think he played poorly. They were driving well but the turnovers killed them early. They got into a mental funk and just couldn't break out of it. They needed to stay more composed. Cam needed to stay more composed. Still, I don' think he played "poorly".

I was laughing at how much Carolina was running the ball on 1st down in the 2nd half.
Another obvious passing situation on 2nd and 9 against this pass rush? Alright boys, let's do it!

Playcalling was awful.

With that pass rush, just throw 1-1s with Ginn on the outside.
I can't remember if they even attempted one. Almost everything were rockets over the middle. He threw almost every pass as hard as he could, and looked terrible using the sidelines

Well, we'll see. I think Cam being so big is why it's a big deal. He probably will be able to hold up. He's the first this big to be so physical and athletic. He'll keep maturing.
The problem for all of the QBs where a big part of their success is their feet is that just like RBs, that aspect of their game WILL......and WILL ALWAYS degrade.
Most QBs are really starting to hit their stride as they approach 30 because their passing ability and knowledge of pass defense has grown so much. And, they never really relied on their feet in the first place.
With QBs who are "good" passers but are only GREAT QBs because of their feet, it turns into a sliding scale. They get better at passing, but their feet desert them.
The moment Vick had to rely primarily on his passing, he became mediocre.
The moment RG3 could no longer kill you with his feet, he became mediocre.
This is going to continue to be a challenge for QBs who rely on their feet to be "great". Cam can pass. But, if he was a slow as Brady, he would be an exceedingly mediocre QB. That's just reality.

One thing that gets me are all the people who claim Brady would be nothing special without his hof coach even though Belicheck has a losing record without him as a starter (36-44 in Cleveland and 15-18 in New England).

Cam got no help from his shitty receivers and his teammates killing drives with stupid penalties.
But 14 points for Denver is on Cam.
You can't fumble twice by your own endzone no matter what. You eat the ball or fall down and take the sack.
That's hubris on Cam's part with no situational awareness. Sometimes you have to play conservative.

This is why you always take a defense led by an elite pass rush over one led by an elite secondary.
Like, Seattle had a great defense in 2013 and 2014, and even this year. But when your domination is mainly from your back 7, the best quarterbacks in this league still have a shot to beat you. For example, Brady last year in the Super Bowl and Cam this year against Seattle.
Flash forward to this year, Brady and Cam were pretty much helpless and doing everything they could just to avoid getting sacked on every play against Denver. Obviously, Denver has very good cornerbacks, but their defense is certainly driven by that pass rush.

To be honest, you saw it on both sides for NE vs Broncos. Peyton could barely get a pass off in that second half. Von Miller was just unblockable that game, it was sick.
Hopefully Edelman heals up completely, because he just didn't have it after the first couple of drives.
