This is just like the threads where everyone says "I'd kill someone if they did xyz to my kid." Now your kid got molested AND their dad is in jail. Good job, dad.

Except that in this scenario, the guy's daughter may live longer and/or have a better quality of life.

In your strawman hypothetical, the retribution does nothing to ease the child's pain.

If by just like you mean nothing like, I agree.

In the 1st example, you're doing it solely to make yourself feel better.

In the 2nd example, you're doing it solely to make your kid feel better.

Nothing alike.
