There is no current law allowing the medical use of cannabis in Australia, and the federal law regarding drug use places marijuana in Schedule 9 (the most restrictive category, which also includes heroin),

What? I googled which of the weed meds were available in Australia before posting
And maybe I'm wrong, but it seems the kid would want her dad with her while she's getting poked by a needle a million times a day and puking her guts up, as opposed to having gotten high a few days ago
Ok y'all be up in arms all you want. I'm over it. I thought I made a simple post with legit questions. I can see I was completely wrong and everyone would break the law to give their kid weed. This must be a very common practice. Not sure why this is even a story
