I like to invest in companies that are dividend aristocrats. What are some of your core holding dividend stocks that have done well for you over the years?

O, but I've only had it for like 6 months or so.

I am just an amateur at this. But I bought CQP in 2009. Kinda kick myself in the arse as I about flipped a coin between CQP or LNG. Wish I had gone the other way.
But that said Cheniere starts production today !

I've been looking at some as well. Curious if anyone holds ETP or ALMP? Was thinking of adding one of these to my portfolio.

Someone on here once mentioned RLI a few months ago. Its an insurance company with a $2 billion market cap. The stock price alone has been beating the market. They pay a small dividend the first three quarters of the year (<1.5%), but at the end of the year they pay a much larger and varying dividend that has been more than 5% the last several years. It's worth checking out, IMO.

Do you mean dividend stocks that pay the best yield or dividend stocks that maintain or increase their value?
I own shares of many stocks that have +10% yield but have not maintained their value.
On the other hand AT&T has been a solid dividend payer and has increased in value since I've owned shares in that company.
Utilities and telecoms are the safest dividend stocks.

Reynolds American RAI pays good dividends and has increased in value a good bit. They also have a history of increasing their dividend.

samson'sseed, was it you that brought up RLI? I remember that it was an UGA fan who did, but I don't recall the username.

One of my best stocks, bought in low 50s and it split iirc in mid 80s. I should hold for long term. I've had for a couple years but will probably sell next January as I'm holding XOM long term- another 15 years.

Do you guys have any thoughts on NAVI as an investment? NAVI is associated with the student loan industry and is trading at near 52 week lows w/ a 5% dividend yield and P/E of around 5.

Curious to get people's feedback on this portfolio make-up for 2016. Going to invest in these 6 dividend stocks quarterly; goal is long-term hold of at least 20 years:
Stock Name Yield Price
MCY Mercury General Corporation Com 5.22 $46.57
XOM Exxon Mobil Corporation Common 3.69 $77.95
OHI Omega Healthcare Investors, Inc 6.33 $34.98
ETP Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. 12.8 $33.73
T AT&T Inc. 5.5 $34.41
HP Helmerich & Payne, Inc. Common 5.08 $53.55
Any over exposure? Thoughts on swapping XOM with any of the other players (Shell, Chevron, etc)?

Side question: It looks like Scottrade only allows you to select 5 stocks to include in their DRIP program. Is that right? Does anyone know if TD Ameritrade or others allow more?
