Are these really hidden gems?
I've eaten at Guidry's Reef quite a few times and always enjoyed the meal there except I don't care for the gumbo much. I've seen people dog it, but for what it is, I've found it over all very good.
My parents ate at Soop's for the first time last week when they made a run to Maurice at mealtime. They loved it, though I can't recall what they had.

Can only speak for Noah's, but it is definitely a hidden gem.

I've been to just two.
Maesone Noodle House is very good. When I'm in Lafayette, my lunch break is usually mid afternoon and I have a thing about not liking to be in restaurants within closing time. They close at 2pm, so I don't find myself there much. They do have an excellent array of various Asian dishes. Would highly recommend.
Fuji Sushi House is by far my favorite choice for sushi in the city. Tik (sp?) and Ginger, the two partners, do an excellent job there. It's a bit pricier than other lesser places, but the cost can be offset by the BYOB factor. I believe they have applied for a liquor license, so that may change. The fish is the best tasting sashimi in the city, so you get what you pay for. Tik has trained under a Japanese chef, so she knows her shite. Again, best in the city, would highly recommend. A true hidden gem.

Fin.... Most of these people would get lost trying to make it out there.... Nothing like some live music, bbq crabs and cold beer.
I've been to Morvants a bunch, but it's been prolly 10yrs since the last time I went.

Tried to grab a lunch at Fuji a few weeks ago and was disappointed to learn they are no longer open for lunch.
Dinner only. 4 pm - 10 pm

It's in Mermentau, the whole town is hidden. Worth the drive or stopping in if you ever find yourself lost around there.

I have done both Morvants & Soops a few times.
Both good food, friendly people, old school eateries. Few places like that left around.
But honestly, I'd take a Fats Pats burger over Morvants based on the food alone.
