It's a lot like collector cars, I think.
Really nice stuff that is produced in low quantities will always appreciate in value.
That said, even run of mill stuff, if it's old and really kept up, will be worth good money.
Look at what a clean '66 Ford or Chevy truck is worth now.

That's exactly the kind of guns I was talking about. S & W Model 10's, S & W 66's, old military rifles, etc. I'm not talking about a good ROI on something that was purchased last year. I'm talking about guns that were purchased years ago, for a comparative pittance, but are in good condition. I was amazed when I actually took the time to do some research on different guns on gunbroker. Really, they are worth more than the same money invested in a company retirement plan 40 years ago and cashed out today.
