I have a 2011 F150 5.0 SCREW 4x4 3.55 gears

My dad has a 2014 F150 3.5 eco SCREW 4x4 3.55 gears

Towing my 3500lb bass boat

NO COMPARISON... The ecoboost is head and shoulders better than the 5.0.

Towing with my dads boat we fished in Texas and used his truck it pulled over the I-10 bridge in Lake Charles without even downshifting. My 5.0 has to downshift just to keep 70mph on flat interstate sometimes.

Tuned? There's no way you're getting 24 if it's not tuned.

I have a '13 SCREW eco with 18,000 miles on it- I'm getting about 15 in town. Drove from Shreveport to BR and the meter said 18.3 as I was pulling in. That's 78mph on I-49 and taking 190. It's definitely gotten better as the engine has worn in. Last fall I was struggling to get 13.5-14mpg. I'm pleased with the engine so far, but it's still early.

I recently bought a 2015 3.5 Ecoboost and i'm amazed. Was always a chevy man before. This truck is in a world of it's own, literally.

My dad was the same way.

He never drove anything but GM trucks and made the switch in 2010 when he bought a new King Ranch (V8). He was amazed at how much better it was, and he recently bought a '15 KR and says its like driving a spaceship. Loves it and probably won't ever go back to GM, especially after the litany of problems they keep having.

Any sag in the back when you haul? I like the leveling kit.

well i haven't hauled anything that's caused sag. 18' trailer loaded with deck lumber is probably the heaviest load i've had.

i personally don't care for the look of the truck w/o the level kit.

Do you have the '15 with the new aluminum frame?

Just FYI it's aluminum body, not an aluminum frame.

A lot of the variances in fuel economy from different posters is probably due to different gear ratios.

This

Supposedly ford was able to make their frames stronger because of the saved weight using the aluminum body

They shaved weight in the frame also.

Of the 700 pounds they saved on the 2015 super can vs the 2014, I think 450 pounds was from areas other than the body (frame, interior, etc)

My son had a '13. He traded for a '15 recently. '15 is a V8. Ford increased hp for '15 ... but back to '13 ecoboost. It was excellent. Good mpg. We got over 21 to Orlando with 5 adults + luggage doing 75. Good pull power too. It pulled my tractor as good as any V8 we've ever had. Thats over 6k with trailer and implement weight.

The only down sides was the sound is still V6 and we could hear the blowoff valve every time he let off the gas pedal. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, he had it in the shop twice for them to fix 6 problems with transmission and some body problems. They fixed 1 and halfassed another. The tranny still had a backup problem when he traded it in. Possibly a computer problem. We'll never know.

The '15 aluminum body V8 is badasser.

I've heard rumors but nothing solid yet. I actually heard that they were going to introduce it in the new Raptor but that isn't the case. The Raptor will have the 3.5 ecoboost.

They did a 5.0 ecoboost cobrajet motor but never installed it into a cobra jet. Some are theorizing its the next GT500 motor.
