After a year or so of Alleva and then-defensive coordinator John Chavis feuding and disagreeing over Chavis’ contract and Chavis’ desire to leave growing by the day, Miles attempted to have Chavis and Alleva try to work out their differences with Miles in a meeting.
In a complete show of disrespect toward Miles, Alleva did not show.
id really like to know if this really happened..tells me all i need to know about Alleva..
I do think its time for Miles to move on...but I do worry about an idiot making the next hire... It would be a critical one. and he better have the back channels open and have interest gauged and damn near the numbers worked out before he terminates a guy like Miles with the $ owed to him in his buyout.
To me its Les's decision, Hire a solid OC, and get out of his way (but its been shown that will never happen) Two find a different DC (wont happen for another year) Yes Steele was a HUGE MISTAKE! and he will show it next year, with idiots saying he still doesnt have his personnel.. I dont care what people say about Chavis, he was damn good, his defenses got tired late because they were on the damn field too long...and last fire Peveto and never let him return to the state of Louisiana, he may be a good man or a hard worker, but everything he touches turns to shite...
he's "that Guy" pay Bama to take him for 400K a year. believe me it will be worth it..

Dude is trolling this site with that article.

No shite, he has another article quoting a EX board member saying that Miles is not close to being on the hot seat.

gg;dr
Is it even worth pointing out that gg basically leads the parade about how Miles is a bumbling idiot who doesn't deserve to still be the coach of the Ferrari that is LSU football in the preseason when everyone just wants football to start but now that it might happen he thinks it is some monumental sign of disrespect?
gg basically writes 15 articles a year that either directly or implicitly call Miles an idiot worthy of derision and losing his job. Now, gg might get what he basically cheerleads for and it is a bridge too far because Alleva struggled to hire great coaches at Duke? gg is so unprincipled it is comical.

If Emmert or Skip were in charge of the search process, I'd probably feel a lot better.
Skip's list when he hired Miles:

Bobby Williams, Jimbo Fisher; Houston Nutt, former Texas A&M coach R.C. Slocum; Les Miles; and Bobby Petrino.
Half the candidates were garbage and half were good. That's the guy you trust. Hiring coaches is damn hard.

Our offense, despite how bad it was last year, was one of the top teams in the country in terms of time of possession.
I think the jury is still out on Steele. I do find our secondary breakdowns extremely disconcerting, though I don't want to absolve Raymond of all responsibility. He was a major downgrade from Cooper in terms of coaching (better recruiter though).

I never wanted Alleva hired in the first place.

Mallory and Peveto in 2008 gave up less ppg and less ypg than Steele has this year. Was the jury still out on them?

All of the assistants started 2015 on two year contracts. Those contracts expire at the end of the 2016 season
If LSU were to fire Miles after this season, they would owe him about $2m a year for eight years. Pretty manageable. The problem is that they would still have to pay this current staff about $6m and then also pay a new staff next year. Not as manageable
This was why Chavis' insistence on a three year extension was so problematic. Alleva and the powers that be gave Miles a two year window to get things fixed and they were not going to pay Chavis not to be here in 2017. If Alleva didn't show up for a meeting with Miles and Chavis it was because he had already told Miles what the deal was.
Actually a pretty interesting strategy by Alleva, but it does almost guarantee Les one more year to right the ship (which I think he deserves)

In some occasions.
2010 Arkansas. gave up big chunks to lose the game. not on the offense. Should have played tOSU in the sugar bowl
Clemson. Their 3 longest drives were in the first half of that game.
ND. 1st drive of the game took 8 minutes off the clock.

Maybe, just maybe, GG has been critical of Miles in the past because Miles deserved the criticism. And maybe, just maybe, he feels Miles deserves one more shot to right the ship instead of being fired by Alleva after a 7-4 season.
Nah, GG spends his whole adult life as a journalist trolling LSU posters on tigerdroppings.com. That's what this is about, right?
I swear some of you are irrational conspiracy riddled bitches.

"Duke Lacrosse team" is all that needs to be said about his lack of class.

If he indeed did drive a wedge between Les and Chavis, that's really, really bad, but excuse me for being hesitant to unconditionally believe everything the hack to end all hacks, Guilbeau, says. That's about all I got.
people are ultra gullible and believe just about anything, esp if it fits their beliefs. I don't believe a damn thing guilbeau says.
this board, and maybe all the others too, is ripe with rumors and should be renamed the LSU Gossip Board. it seems that the "concensus" on here never turns out to be true.
Posted on 11/19/15 at 4:42 pm to Katy Tiger
Jeeze. Do we have to choose someone we actually like and believe between Guilbeau and Alleva? I refuse.
