But I agree with the others here... go to Tony's. There will be a wait, ask if they'll take your # and text you when your table is available. Then walk down the street to Rogue Ale's and grab a beer outside and soak in washington square

Bar Tartine on Valencia
Kokkari in financial district.
Ate my way around SF in September and these two spots were some of the best meals I've had this year.
Don't get turned off by Kokkari being Greek. It's an amazing beautiful place that has history and ridiculously authentic food, old school waiters and a giant open hearth where they cook whole lamb sometimes.
Highly recommended
