We're often prisoners of the moment, but it's right up there. I'd argue that at the time 9-6 was more important than this one, since when the ball was kicked off it appeared that only the winner would survive and have a crack at the title. There were only two spots then and no one saw Iowa state pulling off that upset
This.
frick the fricking bullshite fricking Rematch.
It was the fricking game of the fricking century!!!!
frick!!!!

2000 was pretty important too, considering it was the first time we beat them at home in about 100 years.
No, we beat them, just not since 1969 at home, a very embarrassing statistic. One of the most memorable in recent memory. I'll be forever grateful to Saban for that one.

it's the most important game cause it's the next one on our schedule.

Also, people forget, but 2007 was HUGE.
Both teams at 6-1 in Saban's first year. No NC without that huge shootout win on the road in Saban Bowl I and Bama may very well start their run Year 1
Chad Jones FTW

that was the first game that Alabama won that year because they had the most FG attempts...
Funny how no one is mentioning the three Tennessee missed fg's in the first half against Bama. Had Bama missed those three and lost it would obviously be because of the field goal kicker.

3rd.
The first game in 2011 - TGOTC - was more important.
If we win, this moves up.
I'd say 2012 was about as important as 1/9/12. We had an SEC West title on the line, as well as a potential SEC and national title. Also importantly, we had the chance to prevent them from winning another of each. But Chavis in the last minute...

If you think or thought the program was in decline then you are hopeless

Would LSU have gotten in the BCS game if they had lost 9-6?
Hell no. Just like if Alabama was undefeated in week 7 of the season, no way would they be #4 behind 3 teams they'd mow down like grass. They'd be #1 no doubt, at worst #2 because OSU is the defending champs.
