our defense is the #1 concern on this team

our special teams are a close 2nd (but due to volume can't be #1)

we can't keep forgetting how we get ahead on teams and allowing teams to keep creeping back, esp with our defense

Very encouraging game. It sort of validated the season so far.

They need to correct those special teams issues. Things happen from time to time, but you can't have three major screw ups in two weeks' time. Time to buckle down on that stuff.

I'm a little concerned about a couple of missed assignments in the secondary, but, then again, those things happen to all teams.

I'd have to agree that the play calling went conservative too early. It makes sense to some degree, but it was almost like they shut everything down in the third quarter.

All in all, I'm pleased.

not!

I see this on other teams way more than I have been seeing this issue with our team this year.

This does not surprise me at all, Miles coaches from the perspective of a passive spectator of the game.

LSU knows how to run the ball and stop the run.

LSU out-rushed Florida 221-55 on the night, pushing Miles’s mark to 61-0 at LSU while rushing for at least 100 yards while holding his opponent below the century mark.

We had a fake FG TD play before this season that won a game vs. a Top 10 opponent??

While a nice very needed play, I'd you forget about the 14 points that special teams gave up? Not sure how you can conveniently omit that. That would be what the poster is referring to. Punt block for seven point and punt return for seven points. Although there was a block in the back on that play not called that would have brought him down.

Just how poor of a head coach Will Muschamp was at Florida. I saw players on both sides of the ball for both Florida and LSU who will play in the NFL. They made you pay for making mistakes. LSU did a better job of eliminating mistakes.

this, harris was phenomenal in the first half, and even ended the first half with an outstanding throw, but for some reason, in the 3rd qtr, the offense went into a shell. overall, other than special teams, LSU looked really really good last night.

Pretty much what we knew before the game started: LSU is really good, and has really good athletes; Florida is also really good, and also has really good athletes. And that LSU is really tough to beat at home, at night.

Unfortunately, LSU's athletes just made more plays than Florida's.

I have no complaints with the officiating: it was fine. LSU simply executed better than we did when it mattered. It was a fun game, and I'm just glad that Florida is on the up and up.

Neal is a beast. we gave Floria 14 pts. LSU can't just bury a team, they have a want to keep them in striking distance. to much L.F. when the passing game was working well in the first half. Did we even pass 3 times in the second half?

Florida came out strong at halftime. If they can get there run game going, there gonna be good. Great performance on the road, at night in Death Valley.

One positive I'd take away from the game as an LSU fan, though, is that Brandon Harris is for real. I didn't know how good he really was. He really surprised me last night.

You guys can beat anybody on your schedule if he continues to improve and play the way he did last night.

So, you don't think it was the very "same tune" either.

If we don't include in our discussion the ST's play that won the game, aren't we kinda over looking a very big play? My only point.

But yes, ST's have been disappointing to this point.

Defensive personnel was confusing to me at times. Once Florida had 4 WR and one of the LBs matched up to the receiver in the slot. I immediately thought they were going to exploit that and sure enough they ran a quick post to him for 30+ yards. Not sure why they didn't bring up a safety or extra DB in. The lack of coverage of the TE early on was strange too. It wasn't like they were running some exotic packages. That's my only negative (and ST) from the game.

seems like Jefferson is the biggest issue in the secondary. If you watch the replay he blew coverages and lost contain on the edge in run support several times.

That between our LBs and DBs, we are confused as to assignments on passing downs. Feels weird to watch at DBU.

Special teams confuses me. WTF

Harris is coming along and will be a force. ^5s to Harris and Cam.

O line and Buga is what they are... Unrelenting and Dominant. Fournette is a freak. I feel fortunate and privileged to witness this kid. Props to Coach Grimes.

D line. What a surprise. I didn't think they could come this far this fast. I knew the talent was there but how about dat Coach O?

Florida made a great hire in McElwain.

That guy can coach! Lets not even mention recruiting. He should be paid DC wages. I just hope they never lose him.

Running for 180 on that defense is no joke. I continue to be amazed at how good Fournette is and continue to be amazed how bad Keehn is.

i wish i knew what was going on with the drops. it's like 2012 all over again. you know they are great but they keep dropping passes they shouldn't. it's weird.

it seemed to me that fla made almost all of their big plays on broken plays and second effort. the d line was in the backfield all night, harris scrambles, huge gain. otherwise, the d was handling that offense pretty well.
