The hypocrisy of fans and analysts in football when it comes to running vs passing is hilarious.

If you have an incredible running game and a shitty qb, everyone focuses on the shitty qb and talks about how much your offense sucks.

If you have an incredible passing game and no running game, no one even notices.

If you rely on a runningback, somehow that player is isolated further from the team. One play and he is injured and LSU sucks! One trick pony on offense!!

Well what the frick about Boykin at TCU?

Its just funny how much modern college football fans hate on and slight teams that focus on running the ball

We put up 600 yards of offense with 400 running and 200 passing. The response to that is one-trick pony, wait till they have to pass the ball.

Someone puts up 600 yards of offense with 400 passing and 200 running. The response is lets all suck the dick of the genius offensive coordinator who put up such staggering numbers.

This was on full display on ESPN's halftime show of the UCLA/Stanford game. They're picking the games of the weekend and they get to LSU/UF. Danny Kanell picks Florida and goes on to mention how UF's offense will be just fine because Treon Harris can run the offense just like Grier (based on no evidence whatsoever). Even talked about what he could do with his legs running the ball. Then goes on to say he hasn't seen enough of Harris to make him think LSU can do anything but run the ball in a pressure situation. So, you pick a team with a QB that hasn't taken one meaningful snap under the new coach over a team that has the best running back in the country and a QB that doesn't turn the ball over. Brilliant.

Irony is...if you are built to run the ball and do it well..it's a much bigger advantage in my opinion. So many advantages. Control the clock and the game, keep defense rested (I bet this is a big reason for so little passing. Resting our defense.)less turnovers, wear down the defense. No stoping clock with incompletions etc etc Much more control.

I love miles philosophy. Fist fight in the trenches and someone screams uncle. I remember watching the Alabama Oline giving up in the GOTC in 11. Willpower, determination, heart and guts.
