First of all, I like your post and agree with almost everything you say.

But the Nebraska stat is misleading. Yes, that '95 team didn't pass a lot but they did average 143 yards passing a game and their starting QB (Tommie Frazier) threw 17 TDs to just 4 INTs. He did what we'd like Harris to do- execute a very heavy run offense that still operates an efficient passing game.

Other teams have also done this successfully.

LSU w/ Mauck
LSU w/ Flynn
tOSU w/ Krenzel


There are others.


We don't need Dan Fouts/Air Coryell ... just need "efficiency" ... make a good, safe throw when needed, move the chains. Keep the D honest. That is all. Let LF7, O-line, and Savages do the rest.
