800-pound man kicked out of hospital for ordering pizza

What a strange hell to be in.
Yeah, I'd say losing 20 lbs in 80 days, it wasn't doing him much good anyway.

At what point do people like this decide their weight is an issue?

To me, here's the thing about these people. They are so fricking fat that they can't even feed themselves. Like they are not capable of going to the refrigerator to fix a plate or answering the door for pick up. That means that some one in their lives is actively feeding them. They have enablers. Those are the really fricked up people.
If I had a close friend or family member who was that fat, I would only bring him celery sticks and fresh veggies in moderate amounts until his fat arse got mobile enough to get his own god damn food.

Yep. I think there was a show on TLC where they would "follow" (obviously the subject remained stationary) these insanely fat folks, and their family members were bringing them tacos, and fast food, and sneaking them all sorts of "snacks".

Cruel but necessary. You can't help people who don't want to help themselves and fatasses are the perfect example of that demographic.
Maybe they should just let this huge burden on the system die. Or maybe they should just ship him the Africa and let him starve or die of AIDS.
(In case you can't tell, I don't have a lot of sympathy for fatties).

800 lbs? Hell no. Thats beyond terrible. He seriously had to be enabled big time. His father has no business complaining because he was likely one of those who helped him get to that point.
Now I can understand when its someone who has a genetic disposition for being overweight, and then another medical issues pushes them into a sedentary lifiestyle,
