Anyone else think it may be time to bench Diarse?
Let me say that I am a big fan, going back to last year's opener when I got to see in person truck that wisconsin defender en route to the go ahead score. However since then, he has done nothing of note, and this year has not been well for him, with no fewer than 4 drops.
with E mich coming to town, this could give Diarse a chance to get right. But I wanted to see what others think.

He keeps dropping passes and it won't matter what we think, he will get benched
we have too much talent at WR to keep someone on the field that isn't performing

Dural had a big drop against Syracuse. Should we bench him too?

He is good at run blocking therefore he will continue to play

Coach Ball will work with Diarse. He is a big target and usually blocks well.

I think he will hold on to his spot simply because he is such a good blocker in the run game. I think as the receivers get more game reps with Harris they will all improve.

Diarse has had multiple drops going back to last season. Don't be obtuse.

Why should he stop posting? Diarse has been dropping balls.

Who gives a shite. All we do is run the ball.

I think Diarse is an asset to the run game while guys like Quinn look to be a liability there. Since the ground game is our bread and butter, Diarse appears to warrant more snaps in non-obvious passing situations.
My question is, where in the world is D.J. Chark? Off the field problems?

I tend to agree with you. Dude can't catch a cold right now. But he's got Brock Huard coming to his rescue and blaming Harris for throwing the ball too hard, so it's really not his fault that he can't catch balls thrown into his hands.

Hmmm.
No TQ haters in this thread.
Interesting.
Diarse is big body and can block.
I say he stays where he's at.
Lsu is a running team folks.
Sooner you accept that better you'll sleep at night.

he should be benched but he's a great blocker so he won't be
in the les miles offense catching the ball comes secondary to blocking for fournette

He is struggling at times. Occasional drop, occasional penalty made worse by unlucky timing.
Bench? No. Most of the time he is an excellent blocker (a prime requirement), he's almost un-jammable at LoS because of his strength/size. Now is the time to coach him up and if necessary give him extra drills.
We will need both in Nov, especially the need for quick release passes which getting off the line is critical for both timing and, well, being quick.

Whose your choice to replace him?

This quote right here tells me just how closely you watch the games, as nothing could be further from the truth. Forget opinions, the film tells the truth. Watch a replay of the Syracuse game and see why T White had such a clear running lane on his punt return. Watch the Auburn game and see why Donte Jackson was able to turn the corner on a jet sweep, or why LF had room to run on a screen pass. You will begin to find a common denominator.
For the record I think both Diarse and Quinn are our two best blockers, and probably a reason why you see them together a lot in a twins formation for some run plays.

He doesn't get enough practice catching passes in live game situations. It's like playing a slow round of golf in which you're waiting on the group in front of you on every shot - so it's tough to develop a rhythm.

You need to check what's in the pipe you're smokin. It seems many posters are looking for excuses why this good player is dropping balls. "it's tony ball's fault, it lack of reps, it's BH fault for throwing too hard,... it goes on and on. Take an UNBIASED look at WHO has not dropped a ball this year. I promise,... it's a short list.
