I think we will see a lot of good things from this D this year

All of the gap alignments and stunts/loops/hidden blitzes will wreck an o-line and an inexperienced quarterback will have a very bad day because of it. The complete 180 this defense has taken this season compared to last shouldn't be a shock when you put in some 2009-2011 Clemson defensive tape. Steele's defenses are all about pressure up front with a safety net over the top. The short passing game (in theory) should be stopped by the defensive line getting in the QB's face which will force the QB to throw into the safety net. The problem was that Dak Prescott is an elite college QB with 5 years of experience. I have full confidence that the defense is going to ruin some offense's days in the near future.

here's a helpful tip.
when you click the share button.. it opens up a section with a url..
under that is a ticker for "start at" just enter the time you want to start at.. and then click the box ticker for start at.. and it will make a url code for that exact start time of the video.. now just copy that link..

I rarely respond to anything today in TigerD anymore, but you are right; that was a thing of finesse and misdirection. The RT is so preoccupied with the oncoming blitz that never occurs that the DE skips in untouched only to have the LB loop around to seal the deal. It broke the cadence. It had them re-think everything, and it confused them for a crucial second or two. The "tale" of the play occurs at 1:56:44 as #58 throws both hands up on his head as he realizes the play was busted, and he didn't touch a single person.

In that case you could've at least told us where in the video instead of thinking we'd watch 2 hours of a boring game just to have something to talk to you about.

One of the knocks on Steele is his defensive schemes are convoluted and can be very confusing on his players. That is a perfect example there but the difference is LSU players seem to get it.

Some of the best defenses at all levels of football do this. The talent and speed that we have up front help a lot with this, but the biggest factor IMO is having very talented safeties that can play the "center field" position and corners that can run with almost any receiver.

That was a beautifully designed blitz.

That was a great play. You never saw us do things like that with Chavis. Usually he just lined our blitzes up and they went straight ahead. Very obvious

I loved this stunt, it freed up the DE and the LB is still sliding down the line in case the DE flushed the QB out of the pocket.
