I hate that these frickers do shite like this but why is it not considered news when the Saudis destroy historically important ancient buildings in Mecca for their mega hotels?

I'm sure it did make news, but you know we can't go and upset the Saudis for political reasons. Hell, I think they demolished every landmark from Muhammad's life.

I take this shite pretty personally because seeing these kinds of things are a passion of mine. I always wanted to go to Syria including Palmyra & Aleppo and thought, I'll wait until things "settle down" before going.
Well now they're literally destroying some of mankind's treasures. Syria's, certainly.
I know this is preferable to human casualties, but there's plenty of those going around too. They aren't making 2000 year old ruins anymore, you know. To think all that those ruins survived through and witnessed, and now they're gone because of these guys, is astounding.

WalMart and other companies are doing the same in Mexico.
If you are pissed about Syria you should be pissed about that too.

No respect for anything but the Quran itself.

Destroying relics? I know they're building near some historic sites but ...destroying ancient relics?

They wander around (by choice) living with not a whole lot than a duffel bag and an AK-47. So how dare the civilized world go on with their lives and have 1,000s of years old archaeological sites. No, blow it up just to be an a-hole and see others squirm. It's really a childish way to be. Most of us got over that way of thinking in our childhood.

I've been to the pyramids in Mexico. Not familiar with what Wal Mart's done there but as far as I could tell it didn't impact the site I visited.
I'm talking Teotihuacan
And I can't say I'm a fan of Wal Mart's to begin with.

All these OT feathers ruffled over a structure most didn't even know existed before this article.
