I've watched seven episodes. I watched five yesterday. I haven't binged a show like this since Fargo.
Narcos is great. I love that it is appropriately in Spanish as well. It woul have been so dumb if it was all in English.

It really isn't "phenomenal". It's a decent show covering a very familiar subject. There is nothing creatively that sets it apart from many other cable shows, and the narration is lazy, and treats us, the audience, like we are tweens incapable of following a coherent story without everything being spelled out for us.
That said, it's entertaining and I enjoyed watching it. But nowhere near the best television being created right now IMHO.

I am with you.
The narration really pisses me off. It's lazy story telling

I've watched 3 episodes so far and hope I finish the series by the end of next weekend. Solid show so far from the episodes I've viewed. Having a lot of the actors speak Spanish & having to read the subtitles to understand it makes me pay better attention.

I'm two episodes in.
totally remember some of the smuggling techniques from TV shows like Miami Vice.
like in one example they smuggled the dope in fish. Dude at the loading dock was all like... ah... catch of the day.
for a minute there I thought they were going to show how they smuggled some dope in these funny looking statues. But it turned out that was the part about the chemists who put some yayo in Coca-Cola.

I wonder if they will show the pilot who flew drugs to miami that they killed for being an Informant from Baton Rouge. 2 Colombians killed him in a motel on airline highway by the interstate and celebration station

I wonder if they will cross over any with the movie Blow. But it doesn't really seem that way.

Carlos Lehder, The german/columbian dude with the swastika tattoo, is george jung's cellmate from blow. I think that's about all the crossover we get as the series starts about the time he cut george out of the picture.
