Who pays these people? The family, the dead people, our taxes?
I believe the home owner or their insurance cover the cost

I'm handling a claim right now for a double murder/suicide. Only one person was killed in the house. Lots of blood. Police launched a few tear gas canisters in the house.
Servpro is doing the clean up, remove the ceramic tile where there was blood, dey wall wtc. The company that picks up the debris with blood etc on it has to be certified. Due to the tear gas the whole house has to be fogged and wiped down, then Hepa vacuumed then wiped again. The remediation will run about 30 thousand dollars, which we will pay the we will have to address the repairs

Legitimate business model that is very lucrative and not a lot of competition because of all the certifications required:
Violent crime cleanup
Suicides
Meth labs
And hoarders.
The ServPro types usually won't have the EPA certifications needed.

Interesting. Judging a book by its cover, aome look like obvious former addicts, some look like innocent LSU students.

I don't think you can tell the two apart
Worked a suicide once in a house trailer that couldn't have been worth more than 10k dollars. Couldn't find an inch of surface in that room that didn't have some type of contamination. The family asked about one of these clean up teams and after finding out about the price I think they did it themselves.

Was in ATL for the CFA bowl against Clemson, met a married couple one night before that owned a crime scene cleanup company. The guy was a former detective, like others said I believe they do pretty well.

City sewage line back ups are the worst. A whole block of houses may get a massive backup sometimes 5-6" deep in the whole house. I talked to one guy who said he heard sewage gurgling up into his tub. He knew what was happening and ran outside to remove the clean out trap cap from his sewage line. He said sewage shot out of the line about 10-15' in the air when the cap was removed. He compared it to an oil well gusher he seen on the TV

Some friends of mine own Xtreme cleaners. Good hard working honest people. They're working on another reality tv show currently.

What I really don't get is the need to advertise.
It's not like you need to mass market.

If i ever shoot someone in my house for breaking in, i will most definitely be dragging their dead arse out of the house immediately. I'm not paying to clean up some dumbass's blood out of my house.

I've seen pictures from a suicide with a shotgun. People have to clean the walls and carpet. Nasty business but necessary
