Looks decent, I wont see it in theaters. I don't get the chance to see many anyway, and my son will be 3 months old. i'll be lucky to see Spectre and Star Wars.
I find it funny that he stole most of his plot. It is basically identical to a short story by Louis L'Amour. I'm trying to find/remember the name of it so ya'll can go read it. I just don't have time to read through all of his short story collections to find it. I have 105 Louis L'Amours, and probably half of them are short story collections.
In Louis' short story. 8 strangers, 7 men and 1 woman, seek shelter in a Stagecoach stop cabin, trying to escape a blizzard in the mountains. Including a murderer/thief who killed someone and took his place to get his hands on gold, and the lawman chasing him. Who, by the way, has no idea what the bad guy looks like and has to figure out which person is lying about who they are.
Sound familiar?
Tarantino, passing this off as your own idea...
There probably aren't very many of us alive who have read that story, especially someone younger like me. Tarantino thought he was getting away with one when he passed this off as his own original idea. I would love to hear someone call him on it in an interview.
Random Thought: I wonder if when he got butthurt and canceled it, before then rewriting it. He did that, NOT because it got leaked. But because when it did, the lawyers for the L'Amour family said he either needed to ask for permission and pay royalties, to use the story, or they would sue. I'm just spitballing there, I never read the original script. Maybe I need to find a synopsis of it....
