I've lost the weight slow but hey I'm down 40lbs so I'm thinking my way works
Lots of different ways work. You said tracking calories etc was BS. That is what I was addressing.

I was at 166 and got up to 172 before I sprained my ankle. Now I'm back below 170. My goal is 183+.

How do you know this? Seems like you might be missing an important variable in the equation.
Your body won't process over 300 g of protein if you weigh 160. That's not a difficult thing to understand. Just because Bodybuilding.com says to eat everything in sight that has the word protein on it, doesn't make it right.

It's not that's it's bs I'm not willing to put in the time to track what I eat. Your way works and that's good for you but not for me

Protein is at 155g. You might be thinking my carbohydrates, which is high at 310g.

He did not say how much he weighs.

Do you know of another way to calculate weight loss?

Not a coincidence.

Yep, read it wrong. That's my bad. I always just read it as protein last for some reason.
How much do you weigh?

Honestly, your first step in all this, if you want to track macros, you need to first track for a week of what you normally eat. You may only be taking in on an average of 2000 calories. If that's the case, then you would only need to jump a little more and not almost 3000 right away.

It's not just an idea...it's science

I'm hovering just below 160. Hence the desire to gain weight.

Fair point. I think I will do that. If I had to guess, I'd range it anywhere from 2,000-2,500 on a given day, but that's far from an exact number.

Calculate how much you eat and then increase it by 500 calories. It usually takes 3,500 calories to gain a pound. That would be one pound a week.
Lots of carbs. Brown rice, quinoa, potatoes, etc.
This is what some yoked dude at a gym told me and I'm going to try it.
