What is your favorite Star Trek TNG episode?

I think the one I liked best was the episode where they were brokering a peace between two warring groups that was to be cemented with a marriage. And the bride has the special characteristic of "imprinting" on the groom to be the perfect the wife for him. But she imprints on Picard instead.
Pretty poignant episode.

I used to watch TNG every night (came on like WGN around 10:30 or 11:00 weeknights). I don't remember a lot of specifics, but the one that always stands out in my memory as one of my favorites is the one where everybody starts to de-evolve into primitive life forms and shite.
Looking it up, it's called "Genesis." That one was awesome.

Always enjoyed any episode with Q in it or a heavy dose of Romulans.

The episode where Picard had to save Wesley Crushers dumb arse from execution after crashing into the flower bed. And Q losing his powers.

Q Who - Q introduces the Federation to the Borg
Yesterday's Enterprise : Enterprise-C comes through a time portal and alters the universe for the Enterprise-D.
Lots of great episodes.

I also love the one where they encounter some sort of satellite that causes Picard to live an entire life on this planet and die there, only to then wake up back on the ship afterwards...so that he could know about this civilization that had died out long ago.
Like you said...plenty of them...

"Darmok"....
Darmok
quote:
The senior crew discuss their latest mission: to make contact with the Tamarian race who have been transmitting signals toward Federation space for weeks. The Enterprise makes contact with a Tamarian ship in orbit around the planet El-Adrel. Though the universal translator can translate their words, the Tamarians only communicate through allegory which baffles the Enterprise crew. Likewise, the Tamarians cannot understand Picard's straightforward use of language. Frustrated by their failure at communication, the Tamarian captain, Dathon, has himself and Captain Picard transported to the planet's surface.
This episode is considered one of the most popular of all the TNG episodes, along with the Hugo Award winning "The Inner Light" from Season 5 and "The Best Of Both Worlds, Part I", which was the Season 3 finale and "The Best Of Both Worlds, Part II" and "Family", the first two episodes of season 4.

Famke was pretty hot in that - in her pre-X-Men days.
But, yet another example when TNG just cavalierly ripped off a TOS story (Elaan of Troyius - get it "Helen of Troy"?).
They executed it very well.
But, the best TNG episode remains: Chain of Command (2-parter).
"There are FOUR lights!"
(But, he admitted that he saw five.)
And this remains some of the best acting on television, ever, ever, by Patrick Stewart and David Warner in the interrogation/torture scenes.

Where No One Has Gone Before, with the Traveler.
Also, Redemption. Data takes command, like a boss.

"The Inner Light"
Also any episode with Q was money. I especially liked the one where Picard's mechanical heart goes out, and Q brings him back to when he just graduated from the Academy.

The Drumhead is one of my favorites.
quote:
Picard: "You know, there are some words I've known since I was a schoolboy: 'With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured...the first thought forbidden...the first freedom denied--chains us all irrevocably.' Those words were uttered by Judge Aaron Satie, as wisdom...and warning. The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged. I fear that today--"

One of the best hours of TV, period.

Q putting the genesis of life on Earth on Picard's shoulders made for a great series finale.

Just seeing yalls picks is a trip down memory lane. I think I've watched every TNG episode twice, but they really do all kind of roll together. Agree with most on here. I like the Q episodes. Also used to love any episode where Wesley Crusher was a large part of the story line.
Man I want to do another rewatch of one of the trek series.

This is always my pick if I have to chose ONE episode.
I love the Borg eps as well, they are all pretty good...especially the two-parter, best of both worlds
Another one that doesn't get brought up very much, that I really like is "Lower Decks". It ties together with the episode where Wesley's team got into trouble back at the Academy, as one of the team members ends up on the Enterprise. "A mission of the Enterprise as seen through some junior officers who are up for promotions, as questions of duty and honor arise among some of them, such as a Bajoran whom Worf has designated to be promoted to operations." A LOT happens on this one. You get to know characters of lower ranks and are reminded that all of the characters that you've grown to love, really are the highest ranking on the ship (authority that you kind of forget about, since they are your pals from so many seasons). Highly recommended watch or rewatch for anyone on a TNG kick.

I watched this show every time it came on and I don't remember anything specific regarding plot
I remember Riker was a bad guy on one episode or something but that is basically it.

I can't remember the name of it, but it is the one where Riker's former captain, who is now an admiral, comes onboard to command a mission to an asteroid where there is secret illegal cloaking technology that the admiral needs to recover and cover up before the other race that is also hunting it down finds it.
The admiral expects Riker to participate in the cover up since he was apart of the initial operation where he led a mutiny, if I remember correctly. Riker commits what he thinks is suiciding his career by telling the truth to Picard.

The Pegasus
And, while we're at it... I hate clickbait lists, but this one is pretty good.

Hard to choose. I prefer the episodes when Riker had a beard. Those seem to be better for some reason.
