This.
I have zero belief that this front office will recover. I expect some 6,7,8 win season (if lucky) for drew from here on out

They've rebuilt this team twice before. I'd have more confidence in them than most NFL front offices

what times?

ok, now how so?
06's of course. With that 06 draft being especially important.
i don't consider 09 or 13 to be a re-build. just normal subtractions/additions that most NFL teams go thru.
A lot of continuity from 06 to 09. With 1 or 2 decent players per year from otherwise terrible draft classes.

you are obviously conceeding if we "rebuild" from last year's 7-9, it's a rebuild.
same record as previous years before the next successful seasons.
09 and 13 both had coaching staff D coordinator changes. But i can sit here and show you the world but it wouldn't change your agenda/opinion.

hey that's great, but who are the chefs?

he said we rebuilt the teams. A swing in the records isn't always indicative of that.
I follow the Saints as close as anyone, Im just trying to think of what drastically changed. I sometimes forget, my memory is getting bad.

And how different would this have been w/ Stills in the mix? He actually falls under the description "young, a mess, and unproven".
i agree. stills is more proven than everybody except cooks and colston, though. but if we had cap room, we may have been able to address that position

Not sure about that. I see the big picture. Like I said, it reminds me of Denver in 1995-1997. They drafted guys like Allen Aldridge OLB, Terrell Davis RB, John Mobley ILB, Tory James CB, Byron Chamberlain TE, Dan Niel OG and Trevor Pryce DE. They were building defense and the running game to help an aging John Elway who had been carrying the team.
We brought in Spiller, Byrd, Browner and drafted Peat, Anthony, Pineapple Express and P.J. Williams. Not saying it will pay off this year, but you can see the front office rebuilding "the team" to help an aging Brees who has been carrying the team.

100% agree. there is a LOT of hindsight bias going on in my posts. i fully admit that. but like i said i heard about junior's melt really late last night and after thinking about all of this in totality (again, in hindsight) i was like holy shite it has been BAD the past couple offseasons

what were the rebuilding points in 2009?

I agree, our relative instability compared to the Packers, Seahawks, Patriots, Ravens, Colts, Broncos, is frustrating.

they traded his 2 best targets

i mean we strengthened what used to be the team we knew we'd meet up with in the playoffs because of our ineptitude.
Assuming that QB doesn't get the big bucks.

I agree with you for the most part. I do disagree with you regarding trading Graham. I think that was a great move and we got max value for him. We were able to basically revamp our OL which is arguably the most important position group that will help Brees succeed. Put it this way, I would rather have Brees throwing with time to Watson and Hill than Brees scrambling for his life to make time to throw to Graham.
With that said, I can't find many other places to argue with you. Since Bounty Gate our management team has made some major gaffes. Giving a new contract to a frickup like Junior right before cutting him was the biggest of them IMO. He was already coming off a subpar year.
I strongly agree with you that our future is tied to success via the draft. A team simply cannot consistently whiff on the draft because the only other way to build is via FA and that is expensive.
To end on an optimistic note, I really like our draft last year more than any since Sean has been our coach.
