To power pole or not to power pole?

About to buy a skeeter tzx 190. Trying to decide to put power poles on it. Have used them in the past and they're awesome, but damn, gonna cost over 4000 bucks to have them added. What say y'all?

I'm similar. My father-in-law winters in Florida and is fascinated by power poles. However, we fish an dammed lake that, for the most part, drops off to 20 feet within 10-15 feet of the shoreline. I just don't think that he'll get much use out of the power pole and have tried to gently dissuade him from it, but he's infatuated. Oh well, it's his money, but I just don't think he's going to get that much use out of it in a lake this deep.

Don't really see the need for one, especially if your boat has a good trolling motor. The only time I would use it is if your fishing with/against a tide and you want to hold your position.

Try fishing in the wind and stay on the fish while dancing on the trolling motor. Much easier to drop the power pole cover the area and move on. Plus if you catch a fish or need to retie or rebait the wind isn't blowing you across the lake.
I don't have them on my boat but they will be my next upgrade.
Also what is nice are the trolling motors that hold position. I put a new one my boat last year or I would have one of those.

Should you decide to get one be sure to be mindful of the remote control for it. Yesterday I saw a guy going down the highway with his blade in down position. I was told people keep remote on lanyard ( activates blade down while putting on seatbelt) or in pocket ( activates blade when sitting in truck)
I would imagine he was pissed when he got home.

Wow, that would suck. Ive known a drunk passenger or two to hit the button while idling down the bayou. Didnt do much but drag bottom until the driver noticed. I imagine the road is a little rougher on the pole.

Get one powder pole and an Ipilot

I guess you have to spend that oil settlement money on something

Agree with others one power pole and iPilot. same cost as two power poles and infinitely more functional setup. Anchor feature on iPilot is the tits.

One power pole should be enough.

Power pole...you won't regret it. There's a reason you see them over talons.I just put one on my new boat. Will never not have one on a boat again.
