I am missing War's score for week 8.
Week 8 Shorthand Table:
1. BPG 16
2. Mick 15 (game in hand and virtual lock to go to 18)
3. Wait 15
4. Vick 15
5. War 15 (game in hand and needs >72 to go top of table)
6. etm 12
7. Tigerstark 9
8. GC 7
9. rdw 6
10. Sticky 6
Week 8 Recap:
The story of the week was that four different teams scored 36 points, but none of them played each other. The 36 point teams went 1-3. Eight teams scored between 33-42 this week and Mick's squad went wild.
BPG 42 defeats etm 36
Alexis Sanchez was the MOTM with 16 points. Cech's 7 and Marko Arnautovic's 9 did the rest of the heavy lifting. However, the loss of Callum Wilson is going to be a huge blow for BPG. Riyad Mahrez took the day off, so etm had no chance. Walcott and Silva were a dynamic midfield duo who combined for 17 points, but neither one was captained. I would have expected Silva to be the VC.
Mick 72 leads War [no score]
If Aguero was the captain, then he would have outscored the rest of the league. Nonetheless, 5 goals and 25 points is the best single week fantasy performance I can remember in the history of this league (Suarez had a 4 goal, 24 pointer once). Besides Kun, Saido Mane tore apart Chelsea for 11, Ayew continues to be a fantasy stud with 9, and Jamie Vardy is on form with his 9 points doubled. While War is using Fergie time, the chances look slim against the best team in the league.
Sticky 37 defeats rdw 36
Sticky missed the memo to score 36 points this week and decided to one up us. KDB led the charge with a goal and two assists worth 15 points. Nacho Monreal posted 6 in a clean sheet over Man U and Santi got 6 with the captain's bonus. However, no one else did much, but it was just enough. Rdw is the fantasy version of this year's Chelsea. The seat is getting hot for the defending champ with only six points through eight weeks. Lukaku scored a goal, but Anthony Martial "Law" disappeared this week in a fantasy nail biter.
Real 42 defeats VKC 36
Dimitri Payet continues his campaign for MVP. His 10 x 2 paved the way for a W, and he has 59 points on the season. Only Mahrez has more points with 60. Beyond the West Ham talisman, Bellerin and Jefferson Montero provided the firepower to break the 36 point threshold. Pedro may have been a poor choice at captain and maybe KDB should have been my supplemental draft pick, but I have to imagine that Chelsea will improve eventually. Besides that, I have to pick the right captain, and Sturridge could be the man until he gets hurt again. Eriksen scored a brace, but no one else scored a goal.
Tigerstark 36 defeats GC 33
Someone scored 36 and finally won! Cabaye led the charge for a resurgent Tigerstark squad with 14. Ivanovic and Terry continue to flop, but at least Terry is back in the starting 11. For GC, Graziano Pelle is playing like there is only "L" in his last name. Odion Ighalo continues to be one of the steals of the draft with five goals and 45 points already.
