Who's Hodson? I'm having bad memory
I wasn't even born until his senior year, but a while back I looked at records and he was the best QB in the SEC his entire career here. I think he was the first SEC QB to hit 9000 career passing yards as well.
ETA:
He's 15th in career passing yards and 16th in TDs in the SEC.

And yet that "noodle-armed gamer" left LSU as the SEC career leader in passing yards.
Yep, and Steve Walsh won the Heisman. Like Hodson, he was a very good college QB who had a noodle-arm. The farthest Hodson ever threw a ball in his life was 63 yards from where he let it go. It was against Florida State. Winner goes to the Orange Bowl. He saw the great Eric Martin cutting across the field and had the vision to lead him deep. He ran forward and heaved it with all his might, and it only traveled 63 yards. Felipe Franks could throw it that far on a line from a standing position.
The beautiful thing about that play was that Hodson was a QB with a weak arm, and Martin was a receiver with no speed. But they were both excellent football players. Hodson would not get a scholarship offer if he was coming out today. He had a much weaker arm than Jennings has.

No matter what year Tommy would come out of high school he would be one of the best QBs in LA and the SEC area.
He was a super intelligent player. His football IQ was off the charts. Great leader.

Eric Martin never played with Hodson and Hodson never played in the Orange Bowl. He didn't have a "noodle arm" either. He was a very good college QB and made an NFL roster. No comparison to Jennings, in arm strength or anything else.

My dad thinks Hodson should have his jersey and number retired
