60 fresh reviews, 6 rotten. Can't wait!

At once questioning and reaffirming the pleasures of cinematic espionage, this is the rare sequel that leaves its franchise feeling not exhausted but surprisingly resurgent at 19 years and counting.-Justin Chang (Variety)
quote:
A sequel that is slick with silliness, but peppered with enough wit and peril to sustain the franchise's momentum.- Henry Barnes (Guardian)

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation might have its hi-tech gadgets, but it's a pleasingly old-fashioned affair.-Jamie Graham (Total Film)

Tom Cruise goes through the motions in this diverting but empty blockbuster.-Tom Huddleston (Time Out)

Feels dated and redundant due to the lack of originality and innovation that's defined the franchise.-Edward Douglas (ComingSoon.net)

Looks like an old school action film. I'm game no matter the reviews.
But this is good news.

All of the Mission Impossible films have been fantastic popcorn flicks. I'll pay money to watch this one too.

Mission Impossible is weird. The movies have gotten better as the franchise has progressed.

I watched MI 1 last week and realized that it really isn't that great of a movie compared to third and fourth movies.

The third is my favorite because of Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He made a great villain.

I know that Tom Cruise has brought upon himself some justified criticism due to his beliefs; however, when I see that he does his own stunts in these movies, and he doesn't hide is lack of height (like many in Hollywood do), I can't help but have a lot of respect for him on the professional level.

The guy is pretty weird, but I enjoy his work.

2 is terrible. That scene where he flips for no reason to holster his guns was just awful.
I'm a fan on MI3 as well. They made Hoffman seem really violent and scary.

Cruise may be crazy - well maybe not now that he has parted with Scientology - but he is on the Mt Rushmore of GOAT movie stars for the last 50 years.
Eastwood
Cruise
Stallone
Schwarzenegger
Everyone else.

I'd say the worst/best scene in that is when Tom Cruise blows open a door in a subterranean base, and as Tom Cruise steps in front of the blazing door in slow motion, a dove flies through. Laugh my arse off every time I see that scene.
