Born in Baton Rouge. Older family member went school there. The whole family were tiger fans, but it wasn't until I was a student at LSU myself that I really became a serious fan. Went to every home game. Have been crazy for the Tigers ever since.

I grew up in South Georgia (huge Georgia fan) and even played against Herschel Walker in HS (actually) beat him twice (junior and senior season). My Dad was a season ticket holder and attended Georgia. So I thought nothing could beat the atmosphere of Sanford Stadium. Then my daughter attended LSU. I went to my first LSU game her freshman season and I was totally blown away by everything. My Georgia friends can't believe that I abandoned the Dawgs but after following LSU, I'm hooked for life! I love the people, the passion and the pure rush that you get from sitting in Tiger Stadium (especially at night). I look forward to many years of following and rooting for LSU!

I'm a 3rd generation alum. I started going to football games every year when my parents thought I was old enough to go with them.

Chris Jackson. I was born and raised in Massachusetts so no ties to LSU at all until I saw him play.

Thats interesting. He was fun to watch

My childhood best friends dad. He used to get smashed and act like a crazy man watching the games. RIP

Both of my parents attended lsu and actually met at a football game in tiger stadium in the early 70's. They moved to houston for work and we always went to one or two games a year. I remember playing peewee football games early Saturday morning and hopping in the car with my uniform on and changing on the drive to Baton Rouge. We would get there in time for my dad to slam back a few beers and head in. It was my fathers favorite place on earth and became mine. First game I vividly remember is the Ohio state game where we tied and them the 1988 auburn game. Been a huge fan ever since. When my father passed away I bought him a brick at mike the tigers cage and think of him during each national anthem. Have 10 season tickets and bring friends from Texas to experience what the ultimate college football experience is each week. Will forever be a tiger win or lose.

It all started in 1957. I became a tiger fan when my older cousin went to LSU. My parents had no influence, dad was following the horses and mom didn't care about sports. I got a little stuffed LSU tiger for Christmas (still have it somewhere). Distinctly remember coming home from trick or treating and listening to the 89 yard punt return laying on the living room floor. The White Team, the Go Team and especially the Chinese Bandits are all ingrained in my memory. Listening to games on WWL was the "ESPN" sports channel of the day. Getting to watch games on TV rarely happened unless LSU made it to a bowl. Ole Miss was our biggest rival and evey kid in our New Orleans neighborhood had to decide whether they were LSU or Tulane fans. Yea, I bleed purple and gold.

I moved to BR from Iowa in early 90s for grad school.
Have been in love with the place and the Tigers ever since.

It was a culture shock to be sure. I did not follow much college football until I got here, and despite the darkness of the Hallman years, I got hooked.

Native Texan by birth but NEVER liked UT/A&M growing up over there.
Family moved here in 69 after dad retired from Barksdale AFB in Shreveport.
Started following the Tiger that year and have loved almost every minute (sans 1/9)
Class of 84!! My kids will either go to Baylor (MIL's alma mater), LA Tech (wife's) or LSU. I've been brainwashing my 5 year-old into believing all other choices other than LSU suck....seems to be working out well. He loves his tigers too!

grew up in Metry and my grandfather shared season tickets with Charles Cusimano.

can remember my first game back in 1973 when I was 5 yrs old

my grandfather always said watching the Golden Girls and the GBFTL perform the "pre-game salute" were worth the price of admission

RIP grandpa and thanks for making me a Tiger fan

Went to LSU from Maryland to play golf back in '78. Loved it down here the first year. Then in '79 I went to the USC game and realized it just doesn't get any better than this. Benji did rake across his facemask on that play but USC's line did move prior to the snap.

My Dad was a student, grad student, and eventually professor in the Department of Agronomy (Alumni Prof of the year '75). He met my mother at LSU; both reared in rural, rather poor surroundings and LSU gave them the chance to better their lives. Then it gave me the same chance. Great memories from earliest childhood to the present.

14-year-old high school freshman, just barely beginning to wonder where I might go to school, and dad got tickets to the 87 LSU Ohio State game. Fell in love with the place that day. Decided that day I would be an alum someday.

Have quite a different way of how I became a Tiger fan. I am from the Southeast Missouri, and Southern Illinois area. In 1994 my father, and I, had the opportunity to go to the College World Series. There I watched LSU, and was very impressed with the fan base but didn't really become a fan then.

I grew up by Southeast Missouri State University, and the pitching coach there would give individual lessons to kids wanting to improve their skills. His name was Jeremy Tyson who I actually watched pitch in the '94 World Series. I received lessons from him for years, and he got me hooked on LSU. Since then I have been a die hard fan here in Missouri.

I can't pinpoint a time or event that sealed it. I think it was just passed on in DNA, if that's possible.
