Nope. My Shih Tzu fell in the lake at 1 month and was fine.

Those kids of dogs, absolutely. They're basically cats.

No, they have gills.

Yep. I had a puppy drown in our pool when I was 10. I found him before school and my parents made me go anyways. Thank's for reminding me of that little nugget, BTW.

Exgirlfriends patents had a Scottish terrier drown in their pool. Apparently they aren't swimmers.

That's not a dog, that's a punchline with fur.

I don't think bulldogs can swim

Had a Golden Retriever when I was a kid. Ran off the end of a pier jumping into the water. Sat their struggling for a moment and started to go down. My dad eventually jumped in and saved it.

Never seen it with my own eyes but I'm pretty sure it's possible if they don't have webbed feet, being that's what helps them swim.

Girlfriend had a blind yorkie. We were at a house party(years before we started dating), and her mom called her freaking out because the damn dog walked off into the pool and drowned.
She fell to the floor and started crying. I'll never forget what she said in a sad little sobbing voice....
"You're, you're what? You're giving it mouth to mouth?"
I don think I stopped laughing for an hour. I had to leave the area. The thought of her mom giving this little dog mouth to mouth was just too much for my maturity level at the time.

Yes, I have known a few and it is horrible. It's usually small dogs that fall into pools.
