Went to Aggie game 2 years ago and never saw a tailgate? What's with that? The first thing we ordered from the concession stand were corn dogs.

The only place that I have seen our fans mistreated on a large scale was Gainesville. I have been three times and frankly don't have a single nice thing to say about that place. I will never go back there for any reason.

I second this with a passion. I've only been once and that was enough. I've never seen a community, as a whole, go out of their way to shite on visitors the way they do in Gainesville. What a miserable trip.

My favorite trip as to be Auburn. We've always had a great time there and were treated wonderfully by the locals.

And if the corn dog trap ruffles your feathers, you need to lighten up Francis. I think it's hilarious and done in good fun.

Not to mention the fact that corn dogs are fricking delicious!

I couldn't care less about corndog traps. Those pics are just there for illustration. This what I asked in the OP:

quote:

Please compare how LSU fans are treated at away games. I'm talking about the number of times you personally witnessed LSU fans being invited to opposing fans' tailgates, given free food and drink, had a good time.

Just focus on that question, please. And FYI, I've still never eaten a corndog.

West Virginia was a very bipolar fanbase. The older fans were absolutely the most gracious I've encountered. The younger fans, students, and mountain trash were the most foul, revolting fans I've encountered.

Remember one guy in Oxford in 98 said "take it easy on us today." This was a week after we had gone off on State by something like 41 to 6. Of course we blew that OM game in overtime, so there was no need for us to take it easy on anybody.

yup my little league buddy was an OM fan and he tells me before the game "seriously y'all'll probably kill us".

then we're down 3 TDs at halftime and obviously come back only to lose in OT. #thankstepper

How is being called a coonass be the same thing as a racial slur? I've seen many plates that Cajuns put on the front of a car that says Proud to be a RCA. The plate shows a raccoon with his tail raised showing his arse. I'm sure that the majority of people here have seen or own the plate.

Over the years I have been to every SEC stadium but Vandy, Kentucky and Missouri. Felt we were treated very fairly by every group of SEC fans (Georgia and Tennessee fans were very very cool) except one. Sorry South Carolina, every person we met was a douche. Both at South Carolina and when South Carolina came to LSU.

Because it is a derogatory term for an ethnic group. Following a 1980 federal court decision, "Cajuns" are recognized as an ethnic minority.

Much like "the N-word" has been folded exclusively into the black American lexicon, so "coonass" has been folded into the Cajun lexicon. What I'm saying is, it's ok for a Cajun to call himself or another Cajun a "coonass".
But it is not ok for some brain dead redneck from Alabama to call a Cajun a "coonass." In this instance the connotation is derogatory.

What I'm saying is, if it would not be ok to put any other racial slur on a sign, it's not ok to put "coonass" on a sign.

We travelled from PIttsburgh and had such a great experience we thought it was uncanny. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE we interacted with was polite and friendly, but we didn't tailgate in the main lot. People offered us plenty of drinks and actually were chanting more stuff like "Eat Chit Pitt" who they haven't played in years.

UGA: awesome city, spent Thursday-sunday there and had absolute blast. Fans were mostly laid back other than a few that tried to fight after we won.

Tennessee(twice) freaking love visiting Knoxville for games. Aided by the fact that both game I went to we won and 2006 was awesome.

Washington: Seattle is awesome. Great campus but just isn't the same.

Oregon fans were the least knowledgeable football fans I ever have had the pleasure of dealing with. I tried earnestly tried to hold conversations but they just did want too. It was all "SEC SUCKS, LOOK AT MY GLOVES OOOOOOOOOOOO"

I wish I went to more games when I was student. They all seemed to fall at bad times for me. I had test the Friday before both Bama road games, 2011 was a midterm that Friday I wanted to kill that teacher. All I did was watch hype videos instead of studying.

Ole miss one year, I was sick in the hospital but I am glad I missed that game.

I was in Arkansas the year they went to Sugar Bowl.
It was horrible.
They were shooting the bird at our kids and cursing like sailors!

personally I only have 2 memories to call upon and one of them was positive, the other was not. At Auburn in 2002 while we were tailgating by our RV we had profanities and other Aubie bullshite yelled at us while we tailgated pre-game and we came back to the RV post-game and found the RV got tomato-ed.

Then in 2011 at Ole Miss (I was in Oxford with my best friend who is an '07 Ole Miss Alum) I was graciously invited under a tent and given food and drinks and made pleasant conversation with Rebel fans before the game, and was happily and peacefully watching the game under the same tent (didn't have a ticket) when I got thrown out of the tent by some drunk areshole, for no reason.

After the game was over an Ole Miss fan approached me, shook my hand and said, "Y'all put a good whoopin' on us go win it all for the conference."

in short, nobody treats opposing fans like we do.

Never really experienced anything negative at away tailgates. I've been to all of the SEC stadiums with the exception of Fayettenam, Gainesville and aTm and Mizzou. Athens is by far the best experience.

I have been in Northwest Arkansas and they do not like LSU at all up there. Just the general consensus.

Little Rock is the worst but didn't go to W VA. Fayetteville was ok though. Everywhere else there's positives and negatives. TN is the favorite

I had a good time with Auburn fans before the 2006 (ugh!) game.

UF has good and bad apples, wouldn't take the family to Gainsville, just the guys.

UGA fans are lame, they don't cook very good foods and they are butt hurt all the time.

Arkansas fans are cool and feed opposing fans well.

Bama fans are good and bad, and I'd take the family to Tusky.

Never been to Starkvegas or Oxford.

Never been to aTm for a football game.

Tennessee fans are cool to opponents at the tailgate events.

USCe fans are lame as UGA fans.

Never been to Vandy, Mizzu, Kentucky

What is insulting about personally being called Coonass is I'm not Cajun and I am willing to bet at least half or more of LSU fans aren't Cajun either.
